Timothy Gutierrez

Commercial Representative

Timothy Gutierrez started his lifelong association with computers by
attempting to reverse engineer the adventure games programmed in BASIC
that he played on his family's Timex Sinclair in the 6th grade. He went on to
complete two degrees in Computer Science. He has been in Japan since
finishing his MA in English (TESOL option) at California State University,
Hayward in 1999. He is actively involved with both the CALL SIG and JALT
national by holding officer positions in both the CALL SIG and Hiroshima
Chapter. He has been the JALT CALL SIG AM Liaison since the 1999 JALT
National conference and he became the JALT Hiroshima Co-Membership chair
(Liaison for the JET Program) shortly thereafter. He also helps out by
proofreading for The Language Teacher and is known to the editors to be
available at a moment's notice. He is currently working for the Kure City
