-
This is a mostly practical presentation 45mins in English intended for instructors of a user level
summary: Applications of Item-Response Theory Software on English Language Testing Analysis.
The presentation aims at presenting the research results on the development of software on data processing and item analysis. The research is the second phase which the first one is on using a platform scanner to scan answer sheets and changing from graphics data type into text data type.
The procedures are data analysis and programming for estimating parameter by Item-Response Theory such as : parameter a as a slope of the equation, parameter b as a difficulty of the item, parameter c as a guess chance, parameter zeta as ability of the examinees, Item Characteristics Curve, and the Item Information function. The Classical Test Theory is also employed in the analysis such as; p as a difficulty of the item, r as a separate power of the item, and reliability of the test KR 20 . Beside the data processing of the tests, the software can present the sum of scores and the students' answers' numbers in each choice of the item.
From the result of the second phase of the research, the text file from the first phase can be used to analyse and to process by Latent Trait Theory as well.
