You can get to Hiroshima by bus, train or plane. Once you get to Hiroshima either catch a taxi straight to the conference site (Hiroshima Jogakuin University) or catch a #5 bus from Hiroshima station to the Jogakuin Daigaku Mae bus stop. Detailed descriptions, maps and links are given below.

Access to Hiroshima

Planes to Hiroshima

Hiroshima has two airports which handle both domestic and international flights. Direct international flights are available from Seoul, Dalian, Beijing, Shanghai, Xi'an, Hong Kong, Singapore and Honolulu. Within Japan, their are direct flights to and from Tokyo, Sapporo, Sendai, Miyazaki, Okinawa, Ishigaki, Fukushima, Niigata, Komatsu (Kanazawa), Kochi and Kagoshima.

Upon leaving the airport you can purchase tickets for the airport limousine bus service which takes you to Hiroshima Train Station, Shinkansen Entrance. The cost is 1,300 yen and it takes about 50 minutes. From the station, follow the directions in the "buses to the conference site" section which appears below.

Trains and buses to Hiroshima

Hiroshima rail station has connections for and Shinkansen express trains regular local trains from all over Japan. The long distance and local bus services are also centered around the station.

Buses to the Conference Site

From Hiroshima Train Station:
      You can take Bus #5 from in front of the Shinkansen exit to Jogakuin Daigaku Mae bus stop. It costs 220 Yen and takes about 15 minutes. A taxi would take about 10 minutes and cost about 1100 yen. There is a taxi stand directly in front of the Shinkansen exit. Alternatively, you may prefer to walk, which would take you about 30 minutes.

From Downtown:
      You can catch bus #6, Ushita-Waseda to the university (Jogakuin Daigaku Mae bus stop) for 220 yen. You can catch it in front of Tokyu Hands and other bus stops downtown. A taxi from downtown is about 1300 yen.
