Guidelines for Contributors:

Manuscripts considered for publication will be double blind reviewed for their presentation and analysis of new empirical data using appropriate research methods, development of theories relevant to language learning and teaching, development or refinement of language learning pedagogies, and discussion papers relevant to teachers and learners of languages at all levels. All manuscripts must be word-processed in APA format, double spaced throughout (including abstracts) and must include complete reference lists, and, where applicable, footnotes and endnotes  and appendixes.

Any article or review must receive positive recommendation from at least two of the referee board before being accepted for publication.  Manuscripts should be forwarded to the editor by email as a Microsoft Word Rich Text Format (RTF) attachment from either Macintosh or PC platformsPlease note the following requirements for submissions.  All manuscripts should include:

Please note that there are no requirements of membership to JALT or the JALT CALL SIG for consideration for publication in The JALT CALL Journal.

Regular articles would be expected to be 4000-6000 words in length (excluding references and appendixes), while forum articles would be around 3000-5000.  We are prepared to be a little flexible with the length of the articles depending on the content. Note that all submissions to the journal must be original work that has not been published elsewhere. If we find that an article has been published previously elsewhere before being published in The JALT CALL Journal without permission from both The JALT CALL Journal editors and the editors of the previous publication, the offending author(s) may be responsible for re-printing and re-distribution costs of that issue of the journal.

All submissions and correspondence should be directed to journal@jaltcall.org. The preferred format for receipt of submissions is electronically via email, but if you would prefer to send a hard copy, please send it to the following address, complete with an electronic version in RTF format on a PC-formatted floppy disk or on a CD-ROM:
